The Airedale Terrier Club of America (ATCA) is proud to announce that the America Kennel Club (AKC) has now included the Airedale in the list of breeds eligible to run in AKC Retriever Hunt Tests, effective August 1st, 2019. The Airedale Terrier has a long history as a versatile hunting dog in the US. The heading from an article in the May 1947 Field and Stream Magazine said it all: “The Airedale as a Hunter – Tough and Steady, he will hunt anything, anywhere at any time.” Hard work by the ATCA Hunting & Field Committee, Hunting Working Airedales, Inc. and many other supporters of the breed has proven the Airedale to be a versatile gun dog breed, able to perform well in Spaniel (Upland) hunt tests as well as Retriever hunt tests and so much more. We look forward to running our dogs in AKC Retriever Tests! For more information see the Hunting and Field web page and/or contact Scott Lichty at firstname.lastname@example.org.
