November 2009 ATCA "Happenings"

  • There are some new items listed on the ATCA Shopping Cart along with some fall and Montgomery specials. Check out all the holiday ideas for special gifts including a new book and coloring book. All the items at http://www.shopping.airedale.org.
  • The ATCA Obedience/Rally and Agility Committee have teamed up to celebrate our performance Airedales with a new fundraiser. Items depicting Airedales in a great design by Mike McCartney CAN BE SEEN HERE.
  • Check out the Members Only section for all club minutes, correspondence, guidelines, financial reports, etc. The website should have the New Officers, Directors and Committee Chairs up soon on the website.
  • The ATCA Board has approved to have a supported entry for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship held December 12th and 13th in Long Beach, CA. This will be an open event this year and all registered AKC Airedales can compete. For more information on this event, visit this page on the AKC Website.

  • DVD's of MCKC regular classes and sweeps will be available this year through ShowDogVideoPros. These DVD's are available on the front page of the website under DVD's of MCKC 2009.

  • The ATCA Hunting and Field Committee is proud to report that the first ATCA sponsored Spaniel Hunt Test held during MCKC weekend was a huge success. VIEW PDF HERE for a report and pictures of the event.
  • MACH award recipients were recognized at the ATCA Annual Meeting and the recipients are: CH MACH2 Stirling Blackstone Spitfire CDX, RE owned by Susan LeVasseur; MACH4 Connemara's Tuff Act to Follow, CDX, JHV, SHFur, SHF, RE, MXF, TDI, CGC owned by Deanna L.   • The Top Obedience Award recognized at the ATCA Annual Meeting went to: Ch Brisline's Plumperfect Unforgettable UDX2, OM1, RA owned by Suzanne Tharpe.
  • The Top Agility Award recognized at the ATCA Annual Meeting went to: Ch. MACH5 Connemara's Tuff Act to Follow, DDX, JHV, SHFur, SHF, RE, XF, TDI, CGC, owned by Deanna L. Corboy-Lulik.
  • The Good Sportsmanship Award for 2009 went to Doug and Aletta Moore.
  • The Barbara Strebeigh Fellowship Award for 2009 was presented to Janet Framke at the ATCA Annual Banquet.
  • To celebrate AKC's 125th anniversary the AKC Booth will be offering discounted DNA Profiling at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in Long Beach, CA December 12 and 13th. The booth will be from 9-2 PM on Saturday and 9-12 PM on Sunday. DNA samples collected at the booth during this event will have a discounted price of $30/ea.

  • Parent Club National Specialty Coupon Program: The AKC announced a new program to reward its core constituents. Starting May 1, 2009 all parent Clubs may provide an electronic list of names and e-mail addresses of participants at their National specialty who would like to receive free coupons from the AKC. AKC will e-mail each participant 5 coupons redeemable in the AKC Online store worth a total of $20.00. Each coupon will have a value of $4.00. All names and e-mail addresses will only be used for distribution of the free online coupons. If you wish to participate, contact Shirley VanOver at svairedale@aol.com.
